The Members Range
BBKA Enterprises is pleased to be able to offer to members a range of 'corporate' clothing and accessories, which includes polo shirts, sweatshirts, fleeces etc. Only very limited stocks of the range will be held at the National Beekeeping Centre, Stoneleigh. Members may order items direct through the sales office or Associations may submit group orders. As orders have to be placed on our supplier for a minimum quantity of 12 items, we will group individual orders; delivery can be expected in 28 days. The orders placed on our supplier can be for mixed items, colours or sizes but will be for a minimum 12 items in total.
All prices include VAT. The quoted postage and packing rates are for UK only. Associations placing an order for a minimum of 12 items (mixed items, colours or sizes) may include their association name under the BBKA logo at supplementary charge of £1.50 per item. Associations wishing to avail of this service should contact the sales office. Healthy Hive® Guide
The Healthy Hive® guide is a pictorial guide to a healthy hive designed for use in an Apiary environment. The papers used in this 24-page wiro-bound book are FSC approved and finished with a matt film lamination, which is biodegradable. Bee Diseases Insurance, Vita (Europe) Ltd, the NBU and others have supported the publication of this unique reference book.
The book at 300x75x8mm (A4 size when open) contains detailed photographic illustrations in the first half, of a typical 11-frame set of a standard National brood box reproduced at approximately half size. Dr Ivor Davis (Master Beekeeper and a past President of the BBKA) took all the photographs in this first section.
The second section contains a complete photographic record – supplied by the NBU – of all the typical pests and diseases that beekeepers may experience at some stage in their hives. Each of the double-sided pages contains helpful notes to accompany all photographs.
This new educational resource is a breakthrough in helping new and improving beekeepers spot early signs of trouble in their hives and what actions they may have to take to eradicate or prevent a recurrence. In the hopefully unlikely event of a notifiable disease the guide details what actions are mandatory. There is a list of useful contact details in the last pages.
