Bees for Development are a Charity based in Monmouth, South Wales, UK.
The philosophy of Bees for Development is to assist people living in poor and remote areas of the world, and to raise awareness about the value of beekeeping for poverty alleviation. Bees for Development achieve this by:
- Maintaining and serving a global beekeeping network
- Compiling and distributing technical information
- Keeping beekeepers up-to-date with knowledge of events and training opportunities
- Putting people in touch with each other to share and learn
- Undertaking research, leading development projects and advocating for policy change
- Offering a consultancy service to donors and development projects who need expertise on beekeeping in development
- Publishing Bees for Development Journal
- Maintaining an Beekeeping Information Centre
