Now what one of the usernames I have set up in secret with floating ip ranges shall I use tommorow?

Disappointing that this site is still banning members- surely we have visited this before and banning just doesn't work.
I must admit that I've stopped having a drink or two before replying to any posts as my langu*** can drift a little at times. Surely anybody should be judged by there overal contribution and this site can cope with the "old farts" that we know and love (tolerate) and the odd eccentric.
I remember the days when we used to be members of the local hardy plant assocaition- you can't get anything as inbread and snobish as that place- this web site is a breath of freash air.
I found home farm a valuable contributor

I only noted him arguing his point, which is allowed. Perhaps his posts were removed pronto because they were so bad? Obviously if so and he posted something offensive, I wouldn't defend him.....and if anyone thinks I'm getting out of order, I would rather you sent me a PM. Wouldn't you?
I learned a lot from Home Farm. I hope he is not permanently banned.

How come he was a senior member? Was it all the offensive posts he made?

I crossed swords with him once. I quite liked his aggressive manner.

Interesting point about what contitutes a senior member.
I was "discouraged" from taking this forum seriously by colleagues in the BBKA who said " the BBKA forum has SENIOR members who have only been keeping bees for less that year- so why should I listed to them when I've been keeping bees for 40 years".
Subsequently I've found the site to be hugely educational and accept that senior members simply post more often and with consistently good advice.

This banning of people is getting rather ridiculous, isnt it?
I totally agree with Karin tho, IF he's posted something really bad (...and in whose opinion?) then fair do's.
If Homey can still read this, then I'd like to say thanks for being nice, for giving your thoughts and for letting us share your knowledge.
Another sad day.....

Have been informed what happened. In the circumstances think ban of Home Farm was fair. I still liked his posts, but do now agree he went too far. Apologies from me to the victim of his offensive comment.

Have also been informed what happened.
Full marks to the moderators of this forum who are doing a wonderful job in making this one of the most useful sites for beekeepers and beemanagers.
I will actively avoid reading any of home farm's past or futures attempts at posting.

How have I missed this post until now!
It is not just the bees that have got CCD!

What post was it?
It seems most of my posts upset some members.
Sorry if I offended anyone, sometimes I did go to far but I think a few posts between me and a mod would of been good rather than just hitting the ban button, maybe that way the mods may of seen why I often offended people.
Can I stay under my username if I promise to be good?
Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
Thanks for members support in white balling me ;)

Are you hacking the site now?
The mods do not look like they have done a very good job of banning you?
Or is it that it is past 9pm and they are all in bed?

There is always 2 sides to a story:
A couple of days ago a member gave me a kicking for saying I was computer savy and I was told off for my reply.
Well today I went to Enfield library and got a book on forum hacking for dummies and have got as far as page 97: (How to be a ghost admin of a forum without showing in the members field of the database)...

Very funny. I reckon you are banned and having fun with the moderators. I am now very confused and not sure if you now also pretending to be other people. I'll know if you pretend to me because I will suddenly become hugely knowledgeable about bee keeping.

I did get banned Karin.
Its a shame because its me that will lose out long term because I will not be able to post as me.
I may reappear as a 70 year who gets excited talking about staining pollen while eating chocolate hob nobs and wondering if Gavin the wife’s home help is really only in it for the money and not after me honey...

It does not look very good for the forum!

I do not have the expertise to permanently delete any posts from Home Farm.
With his recent actions its no wonder he is banned, childlike behaviour comes to mind. I am seriously concerned about Home Farm's mental state.
I will PM Steve who is admin and see what he can do.

Bcrazy would you like me to delete them as I am able to.
The "mental state" card is years old,you must try harder ;)

I don't know why Home Farm was banned, his posts can be a little caustic at times but I don't thinks that could be the reason.
Whatever the rights or wrongs I would plead with him to rethink his current approach of apparently hacking the forum. I think it can only lead to things escalating either by legal proceedings against Home Farm or the BBKA deciding the Forum is more trouble than it is worth and removing this facility.
I would urge both parties Home Farm and the Moderating team to review their actions and to try and reach a compromise. A Forum 'holiday' for Home Farm maybe the result of this exercise but i don't think a permenant ban is warranted.
Any forum will have a cross section of people posting to it and we all need to temper our posts to be more acceptable to all.
I really do hope common sense will prevail.

Thank you Sanman it does seem fair to me.
I think the mods should maybe give all banned members another chance rather than just hitting the ban button because a few other members complain about posts.
I except that a beekeeping forum may not be the best place to use "my type of humor" and that it can be very offensive at times but then again it is the internet.
This all started with members taking sides over Biobees comments on the forum but even I miss reading his posts and sharing all that he has learned regards Buckfast and top bar hives.
Just because a few members argue at times should not warrant a long term ban.
Why not hold an amnesty and allow banned members back, I have seen it work very well on other forums in the past.
I find it strange that this is a forum yet the BBKA mod team wants everyone to agree on everything or keep ones mouth shut while playing nicely?
Forums don’t work like the real world FFS....
I have a few supporters as does Biobee, does this not say something about the forum and how it should be run.
While trying not to offend I must add that this is the most amateur run forum I have ever used and the banning of members and the way it’s done is crazy!

Home Farm,
You do not agree with the way this forum is run, that's your prerogative.
Please be kind enough to adhere to the imposed ban on yourself and not to carry on posting.

have you got a copy of what you were ban for Home farm,
I've only posted 4 time since i was wiped out when the site was messed about with and restarted,
i find that i look at what people have to say a lot more then giving advices,
it's a shame but i did feel i had something to offer with my smaller/natural cell bees if anyone wanted to bounce any ideals around with and i was more than happy to listen , it is very hard to get motivated on this forum i hope i am wrong but i think it has seen its best days.
Regards Tony
