It seems AOL are blocking the forum confirmation emails. I have applied to AOL postmaster to get the britishbee.org.uk whitelisted, fingers crossed I'm not ignored. http://postmaster-us.info.aol.com/

Update: No joy on this one

You see forum users - setting up this new website isn't a piece of cake.

And using AOL is not the easiest way to be on line.

I used them years ago and it was a nightmare. Talk about conflicts. So I got rid, reformated and yes you have to to get them off your machine and lo.........

not an hour spent on a help line since. Bliss.

Dear Peter,

I am implying nothing at all.

I was stating that I found AOL to be pretty damn user unfriendly. Their ambition as I discovered was for users not to leave the portal at all, they wanted to provide a kissy kissy safe environment which is laudable from the child protection aspect but they are not keen on you actually going out on to the web, hence their code is or seems to be incompatible with the rest of the world.

I am stating though that AOL roots so deeply into the registry that re-formatting the comp is the only way to be rid of it. That is nothing new and has been widely known for over ten years.

You seem to think that the mods on here have something to do with the site management. We do not.

You have moaned and moaned about this. For the last time get over it as it ain't going to change. The next moaning post you put up I am deleting, last warning.

Our company is a "clearing house" for engineering projects. For the last few days all the leads we emailed to our customers with AOL addresses have been rejected. That could well have lost those companies business opportunities.

We also have far more problems with AOL members accessing our website than any other ISP because of the way they customise the browser.

AOL have a problem, not BBKA.

Far be it for me to have my two pence worth, but could not AOL users get gmail addresses or would AOL block them and google too ?.

Just trying to provide a solution to a problem here.

Update

Our server IP was blocked by AOL and is hopefully OK now, until it happens again. I haven't had any complaints from any new forum subscribers in the last two days, fingers crossed.

I should state that AOL users are generally better off using another email address, this is not just my opinion - Google this "AOL blocking emails".

I hope this kills all the complaints that the BBKA are some how to blame or should have done something about the AOL email issues.
