It has become a well established, and very enjoyable, annual practice to recognise those beekeepers who are celebrating fifty years of beekeeping and BBKA membership.

This recognition takes the form of an announcement at the ADM and a BBKA “50 Years in Beekeeping” Certificate being issued to each recognised member. Whenever possible, the member is invited to attend the following ADM and be presented with the Certificate in person but alternative local presentations are perfectly acceptable.

This announcement is to remind Associations that the latest date for submissions to make the next presentation is 17th December 2008. This will give us just sufficient time to prepare the certificates in time for the ADM.

All that is required is the member’s name and a short citation signed by one of  your Association officers via email or Royal Mail to me at Stoneleigh. Associations who have already requested certificates need take no further action.

Please consider all your long standing members and take this opportunity to rightly recognise their commitment and dedication to our wonderful obsession.
