Join BIBBA the Bee Improvement and Bee Breeding Association

Get involved in bee breeding. Like all other forms of life bees can be improved by selective breeding. BIBBA encourages beekeepers to work together in breeding groups. Much has been achieved but more could be done by beekeepers working together. Subs are £20 per annum and the Bee Improvement magazine is included in the subscription fee. Silver Gilt for the BBKA at the RHS Tatton Park

The BBKA was delighted to acheive a silver gilt medal for its entry at the RHS Tatton Park show.

Tatton 1

The stand, organised and manned by Cheshire Beekeepers Association on behalf of the BBKA, was visited by hundreds of people interested both in starting beekeeping and those keen to learn what they could do to help arest the decline of the honey bee.

Tatton 2

Members of the association were able to provide advice and information to the public,and with the aim of a observation hive of live bees, and a virtual hive could clearly explain how a honey bee colony was organised.

Bees were an overall theme at the show with several other gardens having bee related displays.

In addition following the passing of a resolution supporting honey bees the BBKA were delighted to see the Womens Institute stand at the show supporting the work of honey bee and calling for the reseach funding recenly announced to be spent in this area.

Martin Smith, Chairman of the BBKA visited the stand on behalf of the National Exective of the BBKA and thanked everyone involved in achieving such a high standard.
