The BBKA places the highest value on educating beekeepers with a graded system of examinations, culminating in the Senior Certificate. We see successful candidates as a means of improving the level of beekeeping in the UK.
If you involved or approached by a school regarding a 'serious' beekeeping proposal (e.g. where bees may be kept on the premises) you should make sure that the school is aware of the guidance published by CLEAPSS as part of the planning process.
With autumn approach, the storage of wax, the limitation of wax moth infestations and the safe use of allowed chemicals for these purposes are important.
